Fresh, Shucked oysters for sale

On the left local volunteer firemen from Tilghman Island. shuck fresh Oysters for the visitors to the Island.

And on the right, the contestants in the Crab Picking contest. Crab pickers will pick for three minutes, the person with the most crab meat and the least amount of shell will be declared the winner.

Oyster Shucking Champs

Five winners emerged from the Oyster Shucking Contests. Both professional oyster shuckers and amateurs competed in the two contests.

Boat Docking Contest

Always a large attraction on Dogwood Harbor. The winner is the fastest time to get his boat into the slip and one line on a mooring pile. The boats are divided into classses according to size and power.

Will be provided by 'Bird Dog Wheeler and the Road Kings' Well known Local musicians and song writers that have appeared at the Tilghman Day celebration for the past several years

The Auction
Another favorite event is the annual Fire Company Auction, All proceeds from this event go to support the Tilghman Volunteer Fire Co. This is a major fund raiser. There is a Silent auction during the early afternoon Followed by the live auction in the evening

11:00 AM Silent Auction begins Kronsberg Park, and continues all day
11:00 AM The Row Boat Race begins at Dogwood Harbor followed by the Jigger Throw contest
12:00 Noon Boat Docking contest begins in Dogwood Harbor
At 2:00 PM Work Boat races off Avalon Island
The Crab picking contest is held in Kronsberg park at 3:15 PM
The live Auction begins at 3:45 PM
